2週間ほど前でしょうか、ババ・ワトソンのお茶目な一面を紹介した際に、アメリカの女性ピン芸人エレン・デジェネレスがホストを務める「The Ellen Show（ザ・エレン・ショー）」への出演を熱望したり、エレンへの誕生日を祝う動画を送っているのを紹介しました。
よほど出演したかったのでしょう、そして何事も言ってみるものですね。
先週のノーザントラスト・オープン開幕前に、ワトソンは念願の「ザ・エレン・ショー」出演が叶ったそうなのです。
エレン・デジェネレスさんは日本でいう「ピン芸人（コメディアン）」で、彼女が持つ番組はいわゆるトークショー。毎回、数名のゲストが登場し、その人に合わせてエレンが笑いを取っていくといった具合。日本でいったら・・・「笑っていいとも！」や「さんまのまんま」あたりでしょうか。
とにかく、どんな術を使ってでもこのトークショーに出演したかったワトソン。すると、Twitterなどでエレンへのラブコールを送っている姿をたまたま見かけた番組のプロデューサーがワトソンの代理人に連絡を取り、とんとん拍子で出演が決まったのだとか。
ノーザントラスト週の火曜日にロサンゼルスにある番組収録スタジオを訪れ、夢の対面＆出演を果たしたそうなのです。

この動画にもあるように、ワトソンは番組内でエレンと一緒にミニチュアパットのゲームをしたようです。3ホール用意されていて、1打で沈めることができたら5,000ドルをハイチ大地震の被害者に寄付をすると公言。惜しくも3つ目は外してしまうのですが、「最初から15,000ドルは寄付するつもりだった」とエレンと生番組でチャリティ活動できたことを喜んでいたようです。
「彼女は面白いし、チャリティ活動を積極的に行っている。俺もそうだ。だから、二人とも考え方が似ていると思ったんだ。だから番組に出てみたかった。だって楽しいじゃない！？そのためにバカなビデオも投稿したりしたけど、目に止まったからね！
「彼女はとれも、とても優しい人だった。ハリウッドのスター気取りしてないし。純粋に良い人で、そういう一面が見れたのは嬉しいね。彼女と話すことができ、『いつも楽しんでます』と本人に言えて最高だったよ」
とかなり満足している様子。番組放送後、ワトソンは自身のTwitterで
「"I had great time on @TheEllenShow ! Thanks for everything! It was a dream come true! Ellen you are the BEST!! :-) 」
@TheEllenShow出演、最高だった！何もかもしてくれてありがとう！夢が叶いました！エレン、あんたは最高です！
とメッセージも送っています。
契約メーカーでもあるピン社とともにジュニア向けのチャリティ活動を積極的に行っているワトソン。今回のザ・エレン・ショー出演で彼の活動も名前も更に全国区に広がったのでは！？
あとは初優勝を飾ってくれれば言うことなしですね。
